something可用作不定代词，表示有价值的事物，某种令人不快的事情等；用作名词时，有大致，左右等含义。用作副词时，通常与形容词连用，有非常，很的意思。

something用作不定代词

1.表示“聊以自慰的事”、“有价值的事物”的意思。例：

It’s something to have a job at all these days.

现在能找到一份工作就算不错了。

2.表示“某种令人不快的事情”。例：

There is something in the word.

好像要发生什么事情。

3.表示“一些吃的喝的东西”的意思。例：

A little something with his meals was an absolute necessity to him.

2.表示“重要的事物”。例：

These paintings were really something.
