IRELAND - The Chairman of the Irish Farmers Association Pigs Committee, Tom Hogan, has said that the solid demand from processors has resulted in a 2c/kg increase in prices being paid for pigs this week.Strongest demand is reported to be coming from the northern part of the country and across the border in Northern Ireland. Tom Hogan welcomed this increase but called on the processing industry to be mindful of the delicate financial status on pig farms across Ireland, after the well documented difficulties of the past two years.
